Hi Rolf.

I guess you mean 'Run as Administrator'?

I can understand why pednew.exe needs that - to update protected areas of disk (for new versions etc.) Not so sure why AVRCo.exe needs that when the optimiser doesn't.

Hell Merlin
All exes are installed with the necessary rights by the installer
But if you rename the ped32new.exe to ped32.exe then these rights are lost. In the near future when the ped is replaced by the new version these little difficulties will be gone.

Hi Rolf.

I did not rename anything. Yet AVRCo.exe did not execute.

Hi,

the ped32.exe is installed with correct properties: "run as admin" and "compatibility mode".
The new ped is not yet installed correctly.
The optimiser/compiler/assembler/... do not need these properties as long as they are started from inside the ped. In this case they become "childs" of the ped32 and inherit it's rights.
To run standalone, they should also have these settings.
Whether these settings are basically necessary depends on the user rights and (CompatMode depends on) the Dephi version. An actual Delphi should not create outputs that need a CompatMode because it should use only actual windows api calls.

@all,

if the "search in files" is implemented then the new PED will
replace the current one in the installation.
