Hi,

Looks like I need some more assistance - with new driver the AVRco programmer works fine, but PED32 does not find it ("Error: ;Programmer not found"), how is this possible and what to do to fix the problem? Something seems to be wrong with the dongle function as it happens only when attempting to compile, starting programmer from PED32 IDE works fine.

Hi Allan,

this is possible when the driver does not fit to the programmer firmware
(old programmer<>new driver or vice versa newer programmer<>old driver)
What AVRco version do you use and how old is the programmer?
(see sticker on the rear or your invoice).
AND
the PED32.exe should run in compatibility mode Win7

Hi Gunter,
I have two programmers, old ISP3-USB and newer ISP3-X, both are working as programmer but not as a dongle!
Win7 compatibility is set also.
AVRco version is old, 5.02.01, after that something important has been changed and my rather large old project do not compile any more with newer versions. I still have to maintain them and using older PED32 is OK.

Hi,

AVRco version is old, 5.02.01

this version is dated April, 2012 and uses the older USB Driver

means, that Windows actually uses the old driver and fits only to an old PED32

What is the newest AVRco Version you own?
If it is not too old, I'd recommend to remove the driver (and select "remove from disk")
and install the actual one. At least the ISP3-X must work with that.
The old ISP-3 work will most likely not work:
it's factory-firmware may be too old. To ship it back to E-LAB for updating the
firmware may solve this issue - but this is not absolutely sure.

Hello Rolf,
Yes both are ISP3 dongles, and both work fine with Win7 or XP but with different AVRCo versions.
Is there any possible way to use one of them under Win10 as dongle with my rather old AVRco version?
Both are working OK with E-LAB Programmer using new driver.

Yes, I have the same driver version, but Win10.
With this driver I can start programmer(s) from IDE 'Prommer' button and everything works fine, can read back or program chips etc.
But an attempt to compile the source ends with "Error: ;Programmer not found"
So it is found and not found simultaneously, not unlike the schrödinger's cat :)

Is there any way to make the compiler work with this driver?
