Hi,

Where is the location where the Dual Terminal dekstop co-ordinates is stored?
At work I use it on a second monitor but when at hmoe I dont have this secoond monitor attached. The problem is that the application runs up and tries to put itself onto the second monitor that doesn't exist. So I can't get to it, to drag back to the primary monitor.

Hi Neil,

I assume in Term2x.ini as usual.
At least this file contains PosX / PosY

Of course :'(
I was looking in the registrey etc.

Now seeing the contents of the ini file, I can also see that it keeps the information of the parameters used for this project. Smart :D
Now if only it was smart enough not to go to screen co-ordinates that do not exist.
If they dont exist then display on the main screen instead.

Thanks,

Neil.

the registry contains only the license informations.

If you delete the Term2x.ini it starts with default values and
creates a new one.
btw:
you find the location of Term2x in the ped32.ini, section [Tools].
So it is possible to use a different term2x.ini at home!

Hi Gunter,
But as I mentioned in my second post, after looking at the ini file, I saw that it gave me extra functionality that I was not aware of.
Thus, I do not want to delete every time. And editing the ini every time I change screen swaps is possible but....painful.

Just a suggestion to make your application even more of a joy to use.

Hi Neil.

Do you use Delphi? (or indeed any other PC compiler). These are standard INI files so writing a small routine to swap the paramaters would be really easy.

Hello Neil,

you say that the program should check the x/y coordinates for validity...
I don't have any idea to do this. I think every coordinate is valid, also these which are completely outside of the current screen.

Hi Rolf,

I'm sure there is windows API call that reports the size of the active desktop. One of our in house programmers uses this for this style of operation.

As an example How To Determine the Size of the Desktop Area

This is a handy thing to apply to any EXE.
