Project source files are always Read Only - Why?

Hi,

Every time I open a project I have used in the past, the files are set to read only.
I need to right click in the source code, set "Project read only" then reset "Project read only".
This then makes all of the files in the project read/write, not Read Only.

Bit of a pain in the ....

Where/ how do I stop it from setting the source files to Read only?

Neil.

Hi Neil,

the folder .../E-LAB/AVRco/Demos and its subordinates are (and become at creation)
"read only" flagged.
Use another folder to store your own projekts.

Hi Gunter,

These are MY projects in a completely different folder.
Not the AVRCo examples.

From an operating system perspective, the files do NOT have the Read Only attribute set.

you must modify the Windows rights properties!
I assume your inherited rights are not sufficient.

Gunter,
What do you mean?
As per the above post, operating system does not have the Read Only Attribute set.

I can quite happily use notepad to read and write these PAS files.

Neil,
I checked it here and found no problems.
BUT -
I do not rely on the Windows security and the whole
volume is set to "owner=everyone", "access rights=all"

Gunter,

In the Project file ie xx.ppro, there are things such as
File2=uW5100.pas
TopLine2=1
CaretY2=1
ReadOnly2=False

What does this readonly do? Even though it is False the file in the editor is still blue and has the Read Only flag set in the right click menu.

Toggling the "Project" ReadOnly flag in the ppro file changes the right click Project Readonly flag.
Toggling the ReadOnly2 does not change the editors right click menu.

It looks very much like it is a AVRCo issue not operating system. Especially when other programs such as notepad, ultraedit etc work fine on these PAS files.

Neil,

what Win version do you use?
I have to leave my office now, but I can check it later
on a virtual machine!
