Hallo allerseits!

Bei der Programmierung der Softcores in den FPGAs muss ich mangels Alternativen immer "C" nehmen und das mag ich nicht.

Eine Lösung wäre, ein (Wishbone-kompatibler) AVR-Softcore (z.B. von OpenCores) und AVRco.

Hat das schon mal jemand überlegt/versucht?
Ist sicher viel Arbeit aber ich denke die Mühe könnte sich lohnen?

Würde das sonst noch jemanden interessieren?
Was würde dafür/dagegen sprechen?

Hi Mike.

I might be interested in such a project.

It may not be the best alternative, though. Maybe all that is needed is a way the accept (and handle) the hex file. A suitable set of IDs and DSC files would need to be created (to handle, but that should doable. Then the AVRCo compiler can be used 'as is'.

Have a look at Fabulous Silicon site. http://www.fabuloussilicon.com/forum/

They are selling a Xilinx Spartan FPGA as an Arduino circuit board with many extra outputs and emulating up to 4 Arduino cores of Mega 2560 on the unit at a time with internal comms between cores.

Sadly it is programmable in Mikro(Pascal,Basic or C). or with the standard Xilinx IDE.

I would think only a short step for anyone to get AVRco to compile and dowload.

I have a board but have not been able to get to use it as my workshop is only just getting put back together after a move.

I will post more as I get to use board.
