Parameter download error

Hi all,

Here my problem:

5 years ago, i used to progam my microcontroller with my an ISP3-USB "USB 2.0". It worked perfectly.

After that, i abandoned this programmer until now. I am working on it at this moment and I need him to work. First of all, I got the programmer not found but I solved it.
Now the problem is the "parameter download error". I searched in the forum for a solution but still not found it.

Can someone help me? It's very urgent.

Thanks!

Hi,

2 solutions:
- use the original cd dellivered with the programmer
- ship the ISP3 to E-LAB for a firmware upgrade (free of charge)

See also http://e-lab.de/pdf/Programmer-History_en.pdf Chapter 3!

Hallo Gunter,

I found the old CD for the installation of AVR prog. Now it works!

Thank you a lot! The new software was not compatible with the old programmer ISP3.

Have a nice day. ;)

Hallo all,

I have an other problem, i got the message "Wrong device ID : 00FF1F CC1100-F32 expected" and "Device protected".

Do you know where it can come from? I got 2 programmers ISP3 like that so I think it's not the problem.

Any ideas?

usually you see something like
"wrong device ID 00000" and "00FF1F CC1100-F32 expected"
The first value is the read value. What is this at your side?

"Device protedted" means LockBits are set. You must first erase the chip.

I did not connect anything after the ISP3-USB.

At my side, there is no first value read. I got only "Wrong device ID : 00FF1F CC1100-F32 expected".

I can't erase the device because he is protected. I have disable the LockBits set.

sorry - I don't know the Chipcon. Maybe another user (Rolf?) has an idea.
Usually these are problems caused by
- programming clock selection too high
- wrong programming pins used
- bad or too long ribbon cable
- additional load connected to programming pins

Okay, no problem, i'll try to solve the problem alone but it's gonna be complicated..

Before this problem appears, just after the "Parameter download error", it works perfectly, i passed to program my device etc.

The programming clock is at 16MHz or 32 MHz.
Wrong programming pins are correct, i have checked it.
I removed the ribbon cable and only let the USB connection between the programmer and the computer.
