Internal Compiler Error in UFAT16.PCU

Hallo,

internal compiler error
Line: 1 file: cprogram files(x86)avrcoavrcoSystemUFAT16.PCU

[Abort]

Kann das jemand nachvollziehen?

Viele Grüße
Alois

Hi Alois

The current online version is 5.11.15.

Did you try that?

Hello Merlin,

Thank you for your help.

I just updated to the version 5.11.15 and tried to re-compile. The error window is still popping up, but the error message shows more detail:

Internal compiler error "File access denied"
Line: 1 file: cprogram files(x86)avrcoavrcoSystemUFAT16.PCU
[Abort]

I also tried the demo "FAT16test". The error is the same.

I do can open the file UFAT16.PCU with an editor, that means, it is readable at least this way.

OK, that probably means that the file access is locked, depending on how you downloaded it.

Go to file manage and open the directory c:program files(x86)avrcoSystem

Hold down the shift key and right click in a blank space in the directory, then in the context menu select Open Powershell window here

Copy/paste the following command and press Enter:

dir | Unblock-File

If you just need to unblock this PCU you can right click on it, select properties and click 'unblock'.

Hope that helps

Merlin.

Hello Merlin,

It seems, that my Windows 7 Pro does not support the "Unblock-File" command in the power shell. Nor there is an entry "unblock" in the properties menu after right-clicking the file.

Ah, I assumed that you were on Windows 10.

Also I did not read your text properly - sorry :-(

I know its a bit corny to say switch off and switch back on, but sometimes an editor can lock a file until you do that. You say that you can open it in a editor, so it is possible, I guess to lock it that way. The other possibility is that the pcu has been created more recently. PCU files created with the current version of the compiler cannot be loaded, but I did not think that there were any such PCUs in the download. Old PCU files do load OK.

Let me know how you get on.

Merlin.

After a full restart of the computer, the problem remains the same. Btw, I try the stock demo "FAT16test".

Tried the following tests:
1. Changing the file name UFAT16.PCU into UFAT16.orig.PCU -> compiler says that UFAT16.pas was not found. That means, the search path is correct.

2. Tried another demo TINA_ENC_UDP: There is also an error:

Internal compiler error "File access denied"
Line: 1 file: cprogram files(x86)avrcoavrcoSystemTINA.PCU
[Abort]

I would interprete this behaviour, as the read access to the folder, where the PCU's are stored is not working. But, all files and folders to this is readable for the normal user according to the NTFS file attributes.

Could you check what file attributes your PCU's and the folders have at your computer - beginning at root C:

I have:

[x] read, execute
[x] read
[x] read folder contents <-- for the folders
